MorganJ and Mythic Journeys

It felt totally organic in a way that I can say, without hyperbole, I've never experienced before in a one-shot like this. Morgan has a loose, player-agency driven style, and at no point did I feel that any of us were being railroaded or forced into situations we hadn't chosen to come upon. By the time the climax of the game came about, we knew each other and we knew the town — our interactions were instinctual. 10/10, I had a great time and greatly recommend Morgan for both newcomers and vets.

I had the honor to play COC: The Haunting, run by MorganJ. This was hands down the best game session I've ever been in. I've been privileged to play with big names and many creators running their own games and adventures. I would play in a game run by MoraganJ over any of them and hope to join more of his in the future. MorganJ was especially good keeping players involved and getting into character, while making sure nobody was left behind.

I had the pleasure of playing with GM MorganJ in person at Gen Con. He ran the classic Call of Cthulhu scenario, “The Haunting,” which I was very familiar with, and to my surprise it was one of my favorite experiences at Gen Con 2024. GM Morgan J brings an air of expert knowledge, no hesitating or thumbing through the rule book. He is patient with new players while keeping experienced players engaged. Easily a five star experience, and I will definitely be seeking out his tables in the future.

By the end of the session we were all laughing and cheering and being badass, and I left with a great feeling of a game well played. He was well-prepared with NPC pictures and descriptions, played into our characters' strengths and weaknesses, and found the perfect blend of pushing the story forward and letting the players go where we wanted. 10/10.
