With Archivist and Gemini Notebook both connected, one prompt gathers the arc and renders the layout.

Install both connections

Archivist Nexus installs the Archivist MCP and a Gemini Notebook companion into Claude Desktop in one pass. Select it during setup — the installer still labels it NotebookLM, Google's name for the tool before July 2026.

As of July 2026 there is no official Gemini Notebook app for ChatGPT, so the one-prompt version of this recipe is Claude Desktop only. You can still do it from ChatGPT by hand — see below. Session prep runs in either assistant with no extra steps.

Use the Archivist MCP and Gemini Notebook together to make an infographic for a campaign arc.

1. Call list-campaigns-tool and ask which campaign. Then call list-sessions-tool and ask which session range. Wait for my answers.
2. For that range, call get-session-tool and list-beats-tool per session, plus list-characters-tool, list-factions-tool, list-locations-tool, and list-quests-tool.
3. In Gemini Notebook, create an Infographic covering the beat timeline, key players (PCs, NPCs, factions), locations, what changed, and what is still open.

Use only what is in my campaign data. Prefer clarity over density — if there is too much, cover the most consequential and tell me what you left out.

Doing it from ChatGPT instead

ChatGPT reads your campaign through the official Archivist app just fine. What it cannot do is drive Gemini Notebook: as of July 2026 Google publishes no Gemini Notebook app or connector for ChatGPT. So you bridge the last step yourself.

Keep it readable

Infographics fail by including everything. The prompt tells the model to prefer the consequential and say what it dropped, so you can judge the cut instead of discovering it at the table.

Questions

How wide an arc works best?

Five to ten sessions. One session rarely has enough shape to be worth a visual, and thirty produces something too dense to read. For more, do one infographic per arc.

Does this work in ChatGPT?

Partly. As of July 2026 Google publishes no Gemini Notebook app or connector for ChatGPT, so ChatGPT cannot render the Infographic itself. It can still read your campaign through the Archivist app and write the arc summary, which you paste into Gemini Notebook as a source by hand. Same result, three manual steps instead of none. The one-prompt version needs Claude Desktop and the Nexus Gemini Notebook companion.

Is the Gemini Notebook connection official?

No. Google does not publish a Gemini Notebook MCP server. Nexus bundles a community CLI (jacob-bd/notebooklm-mcp-cli, MIT licensed) that supports audio overviews, infographics, and notebooks. Expect occasional breakage. If it does, ask your assistant to output the timeline and key players as markdown instead and paste that into Gemini Notebook by hand.

What if it gets a detail wrong?

Ask for a fix in the same conversation and regenerate. Layout tools compress aggressively, so check names and dates before posting.

Is there something like this inside Archivist?

Yes, and it may be what you want. Data Studio renders an interactive relationship map of characters, items, locations, factions, and timeline events. This recipe is for a flat image you can hand to players.
